How we collect, use, and protect the information you give us.
Our Commitment To Privacy
Pathway to Hope knows that you care how information about you is used and shared, and we appreciate you trusting that we will do so carefully and sensibly. To better protect your privacy, we provide this Privacy Policy explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used on this website. The information below explains our policy regarding your privacy and the pathwaytohope.ca website. By visiting pathwaytohope.ca, you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
The pathwaytohope.ca website is maintained by Pathway to Hope.
Defining Personal Information
Personal information is information about an identifiable individual as defined, from time to time, in applicable Canadian (including federal, provincial, and territorial) privacy legislation. This includes any information that can be used to distinguish, identify, or contact a specific individual. An individual’s opinions or beliefs, as well as facts about, or related to, the individual may also be considered personal information. Business contact information and certain publicly available information, such as names, addresses and telephone numbers as published in telephone directories, may not be considered personal information. Where an individual uses his or her home contact information as business contact information as well, we consider the contact information provided to be business contact information, and therefore may not be subject to the same level of protection as personal information.
What Personally Identifiable Information Is Collected On This Site?
The only place this website asks for personal information is the contact form, which collects your first name, last name, email address, and whatever you write in the message. We use it to read your message and reply. Nothing else.
There are no accounts on this website. You cannot register, and there is nothing to log in to. There is no newsletter sign-up and no way to donate through this site.
This information is retained and used in accordance with existing laws, rules, regulations, and other policies.
Personal information collected by Pathway to Hope may also include: programs an individual wishes to support, language preference, demographic information such as age and gender, and communication preferences for marketing purposes.
If you choose not to provide any personal information, we may not be able to fulfill your request or complete your order, but you will still be free to browse the other sections of the websites owned and administered by Pathway to Hope. This means that you can visit our site without telling us who you are or revealing any personally identifiable information about yourself.
Payment information
Payments are completed on a Checkout page hosted by Stripe. The cardholder provides card and billing details directly to Stripe. Pathway to Hope’s website and Cloudflare-hosted payment tool do not receive or store full card numbers or card security codes.
Stripe provides Pathway to Hope with transaction information needed to operate and reconcile the payment, which may include the payment amount and currency, payment status, dates, card brand and last four digits, billing details made available by Stripe, and Stripe customer, Checkout Session, payment, subscription, invoice, and subscription-schedule identifiers.
How payment information is used
Pathway to Hope uses the transaction information provided by Stripe to process and reconcile donations, administer fixed installment schedules, retry failed installments where permitted, prevent duplicate payments, issue approved refunds, respond to disputes, detect fraud, maintain financial records, and meet legal and compliance obligations.
The payment tool also creates a non-personal payment reference and stores operational records needed to recover the same Checkout Session after a browser or sign-in change. These records do not contain a full card number or card security code.
Payment service provider
Stripe processes payment information as Pathway to Hope’s payment service provider. Stripe’s collection, use, storage, transfer, and protection of personal information are also governed by Stripe’s privacy policy. Stripe may process information outside Canada, subject to the laws of the jurisdictions where it or its service providers operate.
Retention and contact
Pathway to Hope retains payment and transaction records only for as long as needed for payment administration, accounting, fraud prevention, disputes, legal obligations, and enforcement of its agreements. Requests or questions about personal information can be sent to admin@pathwaytohope.ca or made by calling 1-888-861-8830.
The Way We Use Information
When you supply information about yourself for a specific purpose, we use the information for only that purpose (such as to provide the service or information you have requested). For example, you may be asked to give us individual information to receive information, to make a donation, or to apply for a job. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to complete that specific purpose.
We use return email addresses to answer the email we receive. Such addresses are not used for any other purpose and are not shared with outside parties.
Pathway to Hope does not sell, rent, give away, or share its email addresses or other information with outside sources.
Should any material changes be made to the ways in which we use personally identifiable information, Pathway to Hope will take commercially reasonable measures to obtain email consent from you. We will also post the changes to our use of personally identifiable information on our site at least 30 days prior to a change.
Our Commitment To Data Security
Personally identifiable information is accessible only to authorized Pathway to Hope personnel and service providers who need it for their work. Pathway to Hope uses reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards intended to protect the personal information under its control. Payment-card details are handled as described in the Payment information section above.

What This Site Collects Automatically
This website does not run analytics. We do not track which pages you view, how long you stay, or where you came from, and we do not build any profile of you.
The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which keeps short-lived operational logs of requests to its servers, including IP addresses. That is standard infrastructure logging used to keep the service running and to defend against attacks. We do not read those logs to identify visitors, and we do not combine them with anything you send us.
Cookies
This website sets no cookies. There is no advertising, no tracking pixel, and no third-party analytics script. Nothing is stored in your browser to recognise you between visits.
Two typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google to fetch them. Google receives your IP address as part of that request. If you would rather that did not happen, tell us and we will host the fonts ourselves.
Links
This website may contain links to other websites. Please note that when you click on one of these links, you are entering another site.
Changes To This Privacy Statement
Changing business practices and circumstances may require that we make changes to this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this website.
Legal Disclaimer
We may disclose personal information when required by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with legal processes served on Pathway to Hope.
